Welcome
to the Capitol Area Animal Response Team
The Capitol Area Animal Response Team is an organization
of volunteers dedicated to the support of pets as their caring owners
recover from hardship, crisis, or disaster. Our focus is to keep pets
and families together, and to cut down on the growing number of owner
surrenders at animal shelters. By providing temporary resources of food,
shelter, veterinary care, and obedience training, CAART promotes the human/animal
bond while also teaching responsible pet ownership.
Please browse our website. Your support
of our work contributes to the welfare of animals in Shawnee County.
ATTENTION ALL
CAART VOLUNTEERS, INTERESTED PARTIES, PET LOVERS AND CHARITABLE GIVERS:
CAART's Pet Food Pantry has a distribution coming up on September
4, 2010, and we need DOG FOOD, CAT FOOD AND KITTY LITTER.
Electric bills have sky rocketed with this heat wave and pet owners are
really facing tough times. CAART is getting new referrals daily and we
WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH FOOD for our distribution in September.
In addition to our Pet Food Pantry Division, our Crisis Sheltering Division
currently has 2 cats and 8 dogs being sheltered at Dog Day Afternoon,
with one more expected to arrive later this week.
If you can help: Pet food and litter can be dropped of at
Pet Food Pantry bins at: PetCo, Banfield Vet Clinic in PetSmart, Dog Day
Afternoon, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and Premier Farm and Home.
Checks can be dropped off at Dog Day Afternoon at 8235 SW 10th, or mailed
to: Topeka Community Foundation, 5431 SW 29th St., Ste. 300, Topeka, KS
66614
Thank you for your generous hearts.
